Mr. Loose has been involved with music since 1958 when he began
his musical career in Joliet, Illinois. He began private study for many years
with Bill Muehler a Chicago area percussion teacher and performer.
In 1964, Mr. Loose began his professional career by playing with local jazz
and big band groups in the Springfield, Illinois, area and teaching at local
music stores in the area.
He attended Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville, Missouri where
he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Business with a minor in Music. During this
time he continued playing music professionally and was co-founder of the local
chapter of Phi Mu Alpha, the professional music fraternity on campus.
After graduation, in 1970, he was then drafted into the Army but enlisted
in the Air Force to further his career in the new area of computer technology.
During his 3 year career in the military, serving in the Washington D.C. area,
he continued teaching and playing in various clubs and groups in the Washington
D.C. area.
After his active duty, he spent three years in the 566th Air National Guard
Band, Chicago, Illinois, playing everything from parades, concerts, and summer
tours in Germany and Nebraska. During this period of time, Mr. Loose was also
playing with various local groups in the Chicago and suburban area.
In 1984, the computer industry took Mr. Loose to the heart of the industry,
California. San Jose has been his home since 1984 and is the birth place of
the POWER Wrist Builders® "The Ultimate Practice Sticks" .
During his career, he has continued to play in groups and musical productions
in the area.
POWER Wrist Builders® began with a need to fill a niche
in a percussionists development. "I got my first pair of aluminum practice sticks
from my drum teacher. Since then I have always used them as integral part of
my practice and warm-up routine," states Mr. Loose. "This is not a new idea,
it's been around a long time before I began taking lessons in 1958. All I have
tried to do is create a high quality product, that can be used by all levels
of expertise and abilities, to help the percussionist build strength, agility,
and endurance."
